Tracy Bleakney RN, BSN, MEd.

My life’s work has always centered on caring for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. For many years, I served as a psychiatric and mental health nurse, first in the hospital and later in the community, walking alongside people during vulnerable, courageous, and deeply human moments. I later became a Certified School Nurse with elementary-aged children, where I learned how profoundly young hearts need safety, presence, and gentle understanding. My Master of Education in School Health Services prepared me for an important role within the school community.  I have learned about individuals, families, complicated relationships and complex systems of care throughout my working life.

My personal life has shaped me just as deeply. I was a single working mother to one son, and I understand the grind life can become—how we push forward even when weary, and how love can anchor us through every challenge. Motherhood grounded me, and my son has been one of my greatest teachers. I deeply cherish my two grandchildren, who have uncovered new ways to love, and clarity about what really matters. I see my role in loving and helping them as fundamental to my legacy.

When I reflect on my life I realize I am at my best when I  hold space and offer presence for others. It is not just something I do—it is my gift. And I know with certainty that everybody’s journey is sacred.

After retiring early from a long nursing career due to a physical disability, I felt a growing discontentment within my spiritual life. As a Unitarian Universalist, I discovered spiritual direction almost by accident, yet it quickly became my next great adventure. This gentle form of companionship supported my spiritual growth, enriched my relationships, and helped me reconnect with the Sacred in a deeper and more authentic way.

I am happier now with how I spend my time, and I feel myself continuing to grow—quietly, steadily, meaningfully.  I am excited to be able to companion others on their journeys.
